Currently
battling the urge to paint every room in the apartment Ultra White. I have so many opinions about style and decor that I am having trouble choosing one option for each room. I am concerned about having a schizophrenic apartment. I want fluidity and calmness. I am concerned that ‘vintage-inspired, rustic, clean, simple, shabby chic’ isn’t a real thing. I need to take all my...

Surgery tomorrow.  Scraping the bottom of my barrel to pay for it.  Growing up is hard.

My Christmas List
this year consisted of: non-stick pans.  wooden spoons. coffee maker. set of knives.  a gift card (to Lowes. So I can buy a rug.) wine glasses. This probably means I’m a grown-up.

There is a specific brand of feminism
that considers the Female as the ultimate form of human. We are your mothers. We are your lovers.   We bear your children.  We keep your homes. We nurture you. We are your muses. It is because of us that you are given life. It is from us that you learn how to have a good life. It is with us that you make that life. _________________________________________________________ I sat in the shower...

Apartment Daydreams.
The living room/SOLARIUM.  The dining room (and hallway).  The BUTLER’S PANTRY (and kitchen). You can add a butler’s pantry to the list of things I never knew I needed, but like really, really, totally do.  (Not pictured: two bedrooms (one for us and one for Lola!), an adorable and clean bathroom, SO MANY CLOSETS, laundry in the basement, a garden with a row for us in the...

How are they doing on the law that lets me marry...
Cause I think I found it.  Hardwood floors, 2 bedrooms, a SOLARIUM, tons of character.  All that is left is to decide if I want to sacrifice the Netflix, weekend trips, magazine subscription section of my budget to pay for such a lovely place.  I don’t know what to do.  Being a grown-up is hard, y’alls.

Yesterday.
November 24, 2011 marked our second year of togetherness.  It marked two years of love.  It also marked two years of trials.  I speak of our deep and great love often, here. All of that is absolutely and necessarily the case. But I want this to be an honest place, one with true words and pure sentiments.  There are absolutely bad times, too. Just like all relationships, ours is built on two...

Jobland.
I officially accepted a position yesterday morning.  I start on Monday.  I will be working 2nd shift (1-9pm, 3-11pm). The company is in the social service arena, and provides residential rehabilitation services to young girls ages 11-18. I’ll be working directly with the girls in a supervisor type capacity. Think paper work/craft coordinator.  I’m really, really excited. It is the...

Obsessing over: This song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ApwS4L8exYo, and mountain music in general.  Working on: Helping mister’s mama with Thanksgiving prep. She has around 50 people to her house for Thanksgiving. Can you fucking imagine? Thinking about: How dirty my dirty pup is. But it’s raining and muddy, so is a bath even worth it at this point? Anticipating: Starting my...

A Woman Should Have...
enough money within her control to move out and rent a place of her own, even if she never wants to or needs to… something perfect to wear if the employer, or date of her dreams wants to see her in an hour… A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE .. a youth she’s content to leave behind…. a past juicy enough that she’s looking forward to retelling it in her old age…. a set of screwdrivers, a cordless drill, and a...

Credit Union.
Here is an article about how you can “Bank Without A Bank.” Credit unions are member-owned, and are generally not for profit, which is much different than most of your corporate banks. The money that you put in directly affects your area in a positive manner.  Think about it.
